My Productive Spring Break

Sometimes Spring Break is a time for getting out of Dodge, sitting by the beach, and reading a few books. This year, I elected to be more productive than I anticipated. I even had room for a little bit of relaxation. Here are the highlights:

  • Pulled of a successful Penguin in the Park 5K with a great group of race directors.
  • Wrote two papers for publication and presentation with a great friend and colleague.
  • Found a new dining room table at Good’s in Kewanee (it has been on the list for the past 2 years).
  • Cleaned up and organized all of the post-race materials for Penguin in the Park.
  • Replied, filed, and deleted way too many emails.
  • Ran 8 miles along with a 4-miler and several 3-milers.
  • Completed and filed taxes (been doing those myself for years).
  • Changed 4 light bulbs from incandescent to LED.
  • Sleep.
  • Caught up on grading.
  • Mowed the lawn (twice).
  • Caught up on the DVR (mostly NCISes).
  • Selected textbooks for the fall.
  • Celebrated Easter at Sharon United Methodist Church and with family (some Honey Baked Ham may have been involved).
  • Finished up some random work projects.
  • Wrote this blog post.
